Crunchy Sandwich is partnering up to help the San Diego Asian Film Festival with their hip hop/ live event called Blowfish. Last year's event was a sell out. All Crunchy People (that's you) get in for $7 if you RSVP beforehand- send the names for this discounted guest list to info@crunchysandwich.com
This year's event features The Far East Movement (featured music in Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, Finishing the Game, etc.), locals hip hop band- The Upstarts, TIMZ and former Air Guitar Champion of the World- C Diddy. I saw a clip of C Diddy in the upcoming documentary on Air Guitar and he was off the hizzie.

A
Positive America
I've
been noticing a good amount of really
positive art coming out of pop
culture. This trend is welcomed by
a struggling optimist like myself;
especially with a lot of dominant
negatives (i.e.- terrorism, war, strange
murders, etc.).
I just
went to see the new Jim Carrey movie
"Bruce Almighty". The movie
has
such a great simple message told in
really entertaining accessible way.
I
highly recommend it.
In the
same way, there are a couple of songs
that have come out in the last
year that are great in the same way-
Nas' "I Know I Can", and
Christina
Aguilera's "Beautiful".
I've
really embraced this movie and these
two songs because they stand in
such stark contrast to the violent
action, cheap sex, visual trickery
for
trickery's sake, sensationalistic
mediocre media pieces that have been
coming out lately. Don't get me wrong,
I'm no right wing puritan. It's
just really nice to find a positive
movie or song with a message simply
put
with no pretentions, that isn't sappy
as hell.
